The re-seeding kit recreates the essential micro-life in your aquarium, bringing your substrate and sand to life.
The kit provides a complete set, combining bacteria and diverse microfauna.
Best results when used regularly every 3 months for routine aquarium maintenance.
Freshwater microfauna does not appear naturally – it must be seeded into the aquarium. This kit allows you to introduce microfauna at different stages of your aquarium’s life, such as during setup, reset, relocation, tank change, or when adding new plants or delicate fish. The living microfauna will settle in the substrate and filter media, regardless of the filter type (internal or external), promoting healthy plants and a thriving aquarium. Microfauna is an essential and indispensable complement to your aquarium’s filtration. We recommend using the re-seeding kit regularly every 3 months for routine maintenance.
You might think the aquarium only needs bacteria, but microfauna is just as important. Benefits include its detritivore role, supporting the natural cycle by recreating the trophic chain, and providing food for your fish. Additionally, it breaks down organic matter and waste into microscopic particles, easing the work of bacteria.
This kit includes a bottle of Daphnia & Microfauna containing Daphnia, Cyclops, Ostracods, etc., as well as a bottle of Bactofresh, which nourishes and develops the microfauna in your aquarium.
1 bottle of Daphnia & Microfauna
1 bottle of Bactofresh
The bottle of living Daphnia & Microfauna contains Daphnia, Ostracods, Cyclops, Rotifers, and other microorganisms invisible to the naked eye.
We collect the microfauna “ready to reproduce,” ideal for seeding your aquarium or pond. Our strains are highly resistant to extreme temperatures and transport and are cultivated biologically.
Bactofresh is a high-quality, broad-spectrum live bacteria concentrate dedicated to your freshwater aquarium.
20–250 L aquariums → 250 ml kit
250–500 L aquariums → 500 ml kit
500 L and above → 1000 ml kit
Upon receipt of the Daphnia & Microfauna bottle, pour the entire contents into the aquarium at night when fish are resting.
Bring the bottle to room temperature before use.
Follow the dosing instructions on the Bactofresh bottle.
In case of heavy predation, visible microfauna like Daphnia may be eaten by fish, but smaller microfauna such as Ostracods and Cyclops will remain.
Note: Cyclops are an important food source for many animals, including fish and fry, thanks to their rapid reproduction. They are therefore a key component of aquatic food webs.
Bactofresh: store at room temperature, away from light; opened bottles should be used without interruption.
Daphnia & Living Microfauna: use immediately upon receipt or store in the refrigerator.
To optimize preservation of living micro- and meiofauna, leave the bottle open for constant oxygenation or aerate it once per day if not used immediately.
