How do I properly acclimatise my daphnia?

- Categories :

We advise you not to pour the daphnids into their new habitat all at once. The difference in water hardness, pH and temperature could shock them, so don't hesitate to use a drip system: the entire volume of the bottle received should be changed in 15 minutes.

During this exercise, stir them from time to time, after 15 minutes of acclimatisation you can release them directly into their future habitat.

Do not add too many leaves as they tend to pollute the water very strongly, e.g. one oak leaf (or other species) per 40-50 litres will suffice.

If you don't want to breed but have your fish eat them, then acclimatisation is not necessary.
