Why you should quickly treat cyanobacteria outbreaks with the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria kit

Cyanobacteria in the freshwater aquarium hobby represent a real danger. Green in color with blue hues (often referred to in the hobby as blue-green algae or BGA), they adhere to the substrate, algae, and aquarium plants, releasing cyanotoxins. Cyanobacteria proliferate very quickly and silently end up killing your aquarium's inhabitants, which often leads to a tank crash, especially when the owner is away.

Therefore, at their very first appearance in your tank, we recommend using the daphbio® freshwater anti-cyanobacteria and anti-algae treatment, which will allow you to eradicate the cyanobacteria.

Effects of the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria kit

By the fourth day of treatment, your cyanobacteria will start showing signs of weakness: they shrink in volume and retract; they are dying off. At this point, we recommend siphoning out the cyanobacteria and any residue from your aquarium.

In most cases, a 5 to 6-day treatment is required to completely get rid of cyanobacteria, but if necessary, you can continue the treatment for an additional 5 days.

Once the treatment is complete, and thanks to the daily use of Bactofresh, your aquarium will look stunning again.

Composition of the freshwater anti-cyanobacteria and anti-algae kit:

Our anti-cyanobacteria kit, available in 250 ml or 500 ml, consists of one bottle of Bactofresh and one bottle of anti-cyanobacteria bacteria, to effectively fight cyanobacteria.

Anti-cyanobacteria kit: choosing the right size:

• A 50 to 300-liter aquarium corresponds to the 250 ml anti-cyanobacteria kit.
• A 300 to 600-liter aquarium corresponds to the 500 ml anti-cyanobacteria kit.

Caution: Do not use carbon filtration in any form during the anti-cyano treatment and for 5 days after.

For aquascapers: turn off CO2 and fertilizers during the treatment period, and reduce the intensity of LED lights, especially the red and blue spectrums.

Storage:

The products must be stored in the refrigerator upon receipt, with the exception of Bactofresh, which should be kept at room temperature. Preferably, any opened bottle should be used continuously without interruption.
