Why you should quickly treat cyanobacteria outbreaks with the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria kit
In marine and reef aquariums, cyanobacteria pose a deadly threat. Red, orange, purple, or green in color, they adhere to the substrate and release deadly toxins: cyanotoxins, which silently and gradually kill all the inhabitants of your tank. First, you might find a dead shrimp, then snails and fish, or you may not find them at all because they have been eaten by other tank inhabitants.
Therefore, as soon as they first appear in your aquarium, we advise you to act quickly by using the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria treatment, which will allow you to eradicate the cyanobacteria.
Effects of the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria kit
From the second day of treatment, your cyanobacteria will start to show signs of weakness: they detach and change color (they are dying off).
Often, by the third day, your cyanobacteria will have completely disappeared. You will then proceed with cleaning and a 3% water change to remove any residue.
In most cases, a 5 or 6-day treatment is necessary to completely get rid of cyanobacteria. At the end of the treatment, you will clean the tank and perform a 6% water change.
Thanks to our cyanobacteria treatment, your corals, fish, and invertebrates will quickly regain their beautiful colors, and your microfauna will be able to thrive again. Our anti-cyanobacteria product has no adverse effects on your corals, fish, invertebrates, shrimp, or urchins. It can be used several times a year if needed.
Composition of the daphbio® anti-cyanobacteria kit:
Our anti-cyanobacteria kit, available in 250 ml or 500 ml, consists of one bottle of Microfaune Booster® and one bottle of anti-cyanobacteria bacteria, to effectively fight cyanobacteria.
Choosing the right size for your anti-cyanobacteria kit:
- A 30 to 450-liter aquarium corresponds to the 250 ml anti-cyanobacteria kit.
- A 450 to 1000-liter aquarium corresponds to the 500 ml anti-cyanobacteria kit.
- A 1000 to 1500-liter aquarium corresponds to two 500 ml anti-cyanobacteria kits (you will receive the products in 1-liter bottles).
For larger aquariums, we advise you to contact us directly by email or at +33 4 22 44 22 71.
Directions and recommendations for use:
You will find the anti-cyanobacteria protocol above, in the "attached documents" section. Shake well before use.
Warning: Do not use carbon filtration in any form during the anti-cyano treatment and for 5 days after.
We recommend not using enriched salt or dosing any additives during the cyanobacteria outbreak.
Note:
Use Bactoreef® with your treatment to prevent cyanobacteria from returning!
We strongly recommend using Bactoreef® during and after the anti-cyano treatment, continuously for a few months, to ensure that cyanobacteria do not return. The benefits of Bactoreef® are numerous, and your aquarium will greatly benefit from it.
Choosing your size:
- If you are running an anti-cyano treatment for a 150 to 400-liter aquarium, we recommend adding a 250 ml bottle of Bactoreef® to your cart.
- If you are running an anti-cyano treatment for a 400 to 700-liter aquarium, we recommend adding a 500 ml bottle of Bactoreef® to your cart.
- If you are running an anti-cyano treatment for an aquarium over 700 liters, we recommend adding a 1-liter bottle of Bactoreef® to your cart.
Use the daphbio Reseeding Kit to rebuild your depleted microfauna!
Once the treatment is complete, we recommend reseeding your microfauna with our daphbio Reseeding Kit. After a cyanobacteria outbreak, your microfauna is often decimated. This kit effectively rebalances your aquarium and restores the balance of your marine ecosystem.
Storage:
The products must be stored in the refrigerator upon receipt, with the exception of Bactoreef®, which is stored at room temperature. Preferably, any opened bottle should be used continuously without interruption.
