daphbio® Microfauna: A unique product for your aquarium!
daphbio®, a pioneer and innovator! For over thirty years, we have known that a reef aquarium cannot function without microfauna. The necessity of microfauna in marine and reef keeping is often overlooked, especially when cycling a new reef tank or for proper maintenance through reseeding. daphbio® live microfauna and meiofauna allow you to create or recreate the essential food web in your aquarium. daphbio® offers high-quality, diversified live microfauna, including egg-bearing specimens, meiofauna, and bacterioplankton, to seed your natural live rock or dry rock, as well as to feed your fish and invertebrates such as corals and gorgonians. Our microfauna is perfectly suited for delicate fish like mandarin dragonets: Synchiropus picturatus and Synchiropus splendidus. This product is ideal for your aquarium's refugiums and sumps.
daphbio® Microfauna and Meiofauna eggs are available in 1-liter bottles and are suitable for aquariums from 60 liters to 4000 liters. Overdosing is impossible, even in nano tanks.
This bottle is recommended alongside the Reseeding Kit for reef aquariums and the Starter Kit for marine aquariums, or after a cyanobacteria outbreak.
Composition: A live and 100% organic product!
daphbio® microfauna is a masterpiece, the result of extensive experience. In a single bottle, we bring together the complete, diversified microfauna and food web essential for marine and reef aquariums: microfauna (copepods, brachionus, rotifers, nematode/white worms), microorganisms, meiofauna, and bacterioplankton.
We harvest egg-bearing microfauna, meaning they are ready to hatch and seed your aquarium. Our strains, which are highly resistant to extreme temperatures and shipping, are specially cultivated organically.
Directions and recommendations for use:
Upon receiving your bottle of marine/reef microfauna and meiofauna, pour the bottle's contents in two separate doses while your fish are asleep, with the skimmer turned off for 1 hour to overnight.
(Regarding turning off the skimmer all night: do this if and only if you have already done so previously without it causing any specific issues.)
Bring the bottle to room temperature before pouring it into the aquarium.
If you are cycling a new tank, please refer to this protocol.
For optimal development of the live microfauna and meiofauna, we recommend using this product in conjunction with Bactoreef®, Zoo Booster®, and Microfaune Booster®.
Storage:
Store in the refrigerator. The bottle should be used quickly.
To optimize the preservation of the Live Microfauna and Meiofauna bottle, we recommend—if the bottle is not used immediately—leaving the cap slightly open to constantly oxygenate the microfauna, or aerating it once a day.
